Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems to include determining the location and density of circuitry, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering; changes.

  • Typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits.

  • Exercise independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.

  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

  • May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

  • Performs, verifies, and directs orderly initialization and shutdown of the AVCATT system.

  • Verifies and conducts flight cabin pre and post-flight checks of helmets, optics, instrumentation, video displays, communications, navigation, flight controls, lighting, weapons, and sensor systems.

  • Coordinates and conducts flight modules reconfiguration availability for training and supportability requirements with a non-intrusive impact on training.

  • Dead lifts and repositions reconfigurable aircraft consoles weighing up to 86 lbs from and to below flight cabin floors.

  • Manages training program for tech II personnel.

  • Conducts and monitors helmet mounted video display system fittings for basic flight students, allied officers, and VIP’s. Provides AVCATT specific in-cabin initial briefings to users on safety, emergencies, settings, and restrictions.

  • Assigns, prioritizes, and coordinates maintenance calls, audits pilot generated logbook entries at random, directs and conducts corrective actions, checks logistics audit trails, and related maintenance records.

  • Involved in all aspects of inventory control for AVCATT Suite/s.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and five years minimum work experience in a related discipline or five years related military training or a combination of education and experience.

  • Five years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / networking, and simulation platform maintenance.

  • Three years’ experience with Microsoft Office software operation and use.

  • Must possess good written composition and verbal communication skills, ability to express facts and rationale.

  • Must currently possess at a minimum an Interim security clearance and be able to obtain/maintain an active/valid US security clearance.

  • Quality assurance/equipment condition analysis experience desired.

  • Able to stoop, bend, lift and carry 50 lbs. and climb ladder up to 25 ft.

  • Ability to interpret wiring diagram and schematics.
