Job Description

The Area Manager plans, directs and coordinates labor for the production floor. The area manager is to plan and coordinate specific responsibilities with associates to obtain daily production goals.

  1. Plan and coordinate daily activities

Communicate to associates the daily production plan and goals

Determine labor needs and staff accordingly on a daily basis

  1. Meet daily production goals

Work with production scheduler and associates to obtain goals

Hold associates accountable for work performance;

Handle any disciplinary matters

  1. Meet Quality goals

Work with QA and Engineering Group when issues arise

Responsible for lab testing and quality checks

  1. Be an effective leader

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Work on multiple tasks

  1. Improve safety performance

Complete monthly safety audits

Attend all safety meetings

Complete and review accident reports in a timely manner

Improve housekeeping

  1. Administrative responsibilities

Attendance reports

Overtime

Daily production reports

  1. Work within a Union facility

Work with union members on a daily basis

Abide to union contacts with company"

Job Requirements

2-4 years' experience in manufacturing or related fields, preferably in a management role. Computer skills also required.

Two-year degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Position requires organizational, problem solving and leadership skills as well as good written and verbal skills.
