Within the Powertrain Systems Engineering team, you will be working closely together with the customer as well as internal and external partners. Together, you will develop concepts and solutions tailored to customer requirements and specific application.

Job Description

As fuel cell systems technical expert you will be responsible for the design and definition of fuel cell systems for mobile applications. You lead a global team with development teams located mainly in Germany.

Focus areas of this job are requirements management at the system level, technical consulting for the customer, system development and simulation, identification of suitable balance of plant components and system validation. You will lead the definition and evaluation of system concepts from acquisition to end of development while taking external and legal requirements into account.

This position involves regular travel of approximately 20% of time both domestic and international.

Main Duties:

  • Technical consultation for the customers

  • Requirements management at fuel cell system level

  • Fuel cell system design and system simulation

  • Component selection for relevant subsystems

  • Coordinate the implementation of the fuel cell system concepts with consideration for all internal, external, and legal requirements

  • Coordination of interdisciplinary project teams

  • Developing and extending professional networks within Bosch and to external business partners


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree such as Automotive Engineering, Electrical engineering or Natural Science

  • 5 years professional experience in industry with development of fuel cell systems for mobile applications

  • 2 years professional experience in industry with development of electric powertrain systems for mobile applications

  • 2 years leadership experience (project/program management or technical area)


  • Demonstrated technical expertise in emerging technologies (e.g. patents, product

  • Master of Engineering Degree, preferably in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Naural Science with Concentration in fuel cell systems

  • Supporting of build-up, testing and vehicle integration of automotive PEM fuel cell systems Broad knowledge in vehicle/automotive systems development

  • Affinity to establish a new business area (field) with a pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Strong negotiation skills, highly self-motivated, results oriented (drives issue resolution)

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
