The RN/Registered Nurse in this role is responsible for coordinating the clinical care and education needs of patients requiring circulatory support or transplant. This includes Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), Total Artificial Hearts (TAH), and the use of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) for treatment of cardiogenic shock. The RN is also responsible for the oversight and coordination of the extensive requirements for 'work-up' of patients for transplant, bridge to transplant mechanical circulatory assist device, or destination therapy within the scope of an RN.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required.
2 years' experience with cardiac transplant and/or mechanical circulatory support patients in the patient care environments required.
Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners.
ACLS & BLS are required
Certification as a Clinical Transplant Coordinator required or must obtain within 2 years from date of hire.
