Job Description

Establish the new CEP Greenfield in Aguascalientes: provide the plant infrastructure and the production resources for successful start of operation.

  • Define and develop the site and building layout together with construction project manager.

  • Define Execution project charter and project targets (budget, time and scope).

  • Set up project team and steering committee in alignment with the plants, BUs and central departments.

  • Establish an adequate project base (meetings and cadence, information/ knowledge exchange, documentation, archiving).

  • Help build up a supportive culture of cooperation and teamwork within the project.

  • Develop and maintain the execution plan for all relevant functions (e.g. HR, IT, SCM) in compliance with the valid processes (phases, deliverables, gates, etc.) throughout life of project, achieving the agreed operations objectives.

  • define hiring plan and coordinate staffing activities.

  • Tailor optional activities according to the project needs and ensure compliance to the processes.

  • perform risk management, control and steer the implementation of risk mitigation measures together with line and project management.

  • Define production and logistic processes and layout in close alignment with BUs and central functions.

  • Responsible for completion of execution activities to meet the specific budget, time, and quality requirements.

  • Communicate any delay, problem, or risk regarding operation activities to steering committee.

  • Project management of line industrialization that meets cycle time, product and process requirements.

  • Ensure technical, timing and cost feasibility to manufacturing facilities to eventual changes in product or requirements.

  • Regularly report project status to steering committee and top management.

  • Escalate issues to BU Management and /or Operations management as required to affected Product or process Quality, Suppliers and Customer issues, if necessary.

  • Actively look for Lessons Learned from other recent Greenfield projects of Continental Automotive worldwide.

  • Representation of Continental in customer and supplier meetings.

  • Handle public relations with local stakeholders (e.g. government authorities, universities).

  • Support project change and problem control activity, including problem resolution activities, based on feasibility considering timing, cost, quality, risk. Job Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience in the automotive or consumer electronics industry in a variety of functions

  • Leadership and project management experience

  • knowledge and experience in manufacturing related technologies, systems, infrastructure, standards and processes (e.g. product life cycle)

  • Knowledge of Continental Automotive organization and the CA business processes

  • Knowledge in budget control and new project introductions (understanding key financial indicators at BU / product level, PCIS and eCR processes and managing the project budget)

  • CBS knowledge: lean principles, methods and tools

  • knowledge of automotive production requirements

  • knowledge in supply chain management

  • knowledge and experience in automotive quality management system and in tools and methods for problem analysis and solving

  • knowledge and experience in industrial/engineering

  • strong management skills

  • strong communication skills (incl. presentation and negotiation techniques)
