St. Joseph Health Surgical Technician - Weekends Only in Eureka, California

We are looking for a Surgical Technician I – NUHW (National Union of Healthcare Workers) who is avaiable to work weekends at St. Joseph Hospital!

Location : St. Joseph Hospital, Eureka, CA

Schedule: Full-time, 72 bi-weekly hours

Shift: 12-hour, F/Sa/Su, Days - 7:00 am to 7:30 pm

St Joseph Hospital is a nonprofit, 138-bed health care facility located in Eureka. This full-service hospital is now designated as a level III trauma center and has been a cornerstone of the community since 1920. St Joseph offers cardiac, critical care, emergency, maternity and infant care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedic, surgery, and more.

Function:

The Surgery Technician employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to perform scrubbing responsibilities and assists the Surgeon during surgical intervention on patients of various ages.

Skills Required:

  • Efficiently communicates with SJHS-HC physicians, surgical staff, customers and other employees both in person and by telephone.

  • Reads and comprehends written instructions, able to interpret medical orders, correspondence, memorandums and medical records.

  • Applies deductive and common sense reasoning ability to problem solving.

Qualifications:

Education: High School graduate or certified equivalency (GED) required.

Experience: Previous OR, Endoscopy or SPD experience is preferred.

Licensure: None required.

Certification: Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
